In honor of Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, which took place during the month of June, Touching Hearts at Home celebrated by donating dozens of donuts to seniors and healthcare heroes while raising funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. Over 5,000 donuts were distributed throughout Gainesville and Lake City, Fla. while over $2,000 was raised to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
Our team had a wonderful time celebrating our seniors and healthcare heroes in honor of Rita Noa who suffers from dementia. Christina Ramos, Touching Hearts at Home Community Care Advocate says her grandmother was the inspiration for the entire FUNdraiser. “If she can’t go to Krispy Kreme, we’ll bring Krispy Kreme to her and other seniors like her to spread joy to them from afar while they are locked down due to COVID-19.”
