Meet John Milner—a remarkable 88-year-old whose vibrant spirit embodies the essence of Older Americans Month. Hailing from Kenmore, New York, John still resides in the cherished home his parents built, where he’s made countless memories and meaningful connections.

Despite his age, John’s zest for life remains undiminished. An avid swimmer, he added a pool to his home to indulge in his favorite pastime and delight in the annual arrival of ducks that hatch atop his pool cover each spring—a whimsical reminder of the joys of nature.

John’s journey extends beyond his idyllic home setting. For three decades, he dedicated himself to shaping young minds as a high school English teacher, instilling a love for literature and storytelling in his students. Upon retiring in 1990, John embarked on a new chapter of creativity, penning nine books and four volumes of poetry—a testament to his boundless imagination and insatiable curiosity.

As a self-proclaimed foodie, John takes pleasure in savoring delicious meals prepared by his dedicated Care Partner through Touching Hearts at Home of Buffalo, NY. With a book in hand, he eagerly anticipates his next culinary adventure, all while maintaining a remarkable figure that defies his indulgent palate.
