Health & Safety Protocols

We know how important it is to protect the wellness of our clientele, who are often the most vulnerable of adults due to age, medical conditions, or disabilities. Equally important is the health and wellness of our professional Caregivers, which directly impacts the safety of the individuals they serve.

All states and local municipalities have compliance guidelines and regulations that impact how a Touching Hearts at Home agency is run. As a franchise, Touching Hearts at Home follows all federal, state, and local compliance laws. This is one of the ways we protect both the people we serve and the people who work diligently as a professional Caregiver.

Health and safety is our priority

During the initial visit with a new client, we provide a safety check to observe living conditions that may affect well-being and help take preventative action.

Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death among adults aged 65 and older, and the age-adjusted fall death rate is increasing. We do our best to identify fall risks and do what it takes to correct them with the support of all persons living within the home or helping within the care community.

Emergencies can happen any time

During the initial in-home interview, all entrance and exit locations are identified in the home. Should a client fall or have any form of medical emergency, we are there to alert the proper authorities, including calling 911.

What are your policies regarding COVID-19 and other infectious disease?

Our professional Caregivers follow standard universal precautions to help prevent the spread of infection, including:

  • Hand hygiene.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (e.g., masks, gloves, eyewear)
  • Respiratory hygiene/cough etiquette.
  • Clean and disinfect environmental surfaces

Regarding COVID-19: Our company cares primarily for a population particularly susceptible to the virus, and we want to assure you that we remain up-to-date and vigilant with our staff training in accordance with the latest guidance from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) as well as state and local guidelines. This includes staying home while sick.

One of the safest places our clients can be is at home. We are part of your care community and will help you stay connected with your personal relationships, as well as your professional relationships such as your doctors.
